About Us
Welcome! I’m Cynthia Whitchurch, the artist and maker behind Whitchurch Glass Designs. My journey with glass began over a decade ago — one vacation moment led to a lifelong passion, and today I create glass art that brings light, color, and harmony into your spaces.
I’ve been exploring fused and stained glass since 2010, fascinated by how light transforms colored glass into something magical. This curiosity led me first to study stained glass in Virginia and later to become the final student of master glass artist Dan Fenton, recognized by the California Glass Exchange for his deep expertise. I also completed a three‑year master course with world‑renowned glass artist Narcissus Quagliata, where I found my artistic voice and elevated my technique to new heights.
Each piece I make is handcrafted in my Lafayette studio, inspired by nature, color, and the joy of everyday beauty. Whether it’s a pocket vase reflecting sunrise light, a sun catcher dancing colors on your wall, or a coaster that feels like a little work of art, my goal is to create objects that make you smile, pause, and connect with the simple joy of presence.
What Makes My Work Unique
• Thoughtful craftsmanship: Every piece is designed, cut, assembled, and fired by hand — no mass production here.
• Nature‑inspired design: I draw inspiration from gardens, coastlines, and the way natural light moves through glass.
• Color & texture play: My work celebrates color interactions — a fusion of precision and spontaneity.
